Marcellus first Fall Harvest Pancake Breakfast at the Marcellus Fire Department this past Sunday was a great success. With about 340 people in attendance enjoying great food, fall pumpkin and apple pancakes, good company, and a little silent auction shopping all leading to a great morning in Marcellus! Special thanks goes out to the Pancake Breakfast Committee chaired by Charlie Smith for all there great planning and hard work, to all the Marcellus Rotary Members who came out to help, to the service the Marcellus Boy Scout Troop 66 gave, and most of all, thanks to the great Marcellus Community for coming out and supporting this organization and our mission.

Maija, our Rotary exchange student, gives us a presentation on Finland. Beautiful place.

Mark Sparrow gave us a great presentation on how to care for our lawn and gardens in the fall. It ranged from pruning, to dividing plants, to fertilizing, weed control and more. Now we have to put it into practice.

Bill Conole gave a presentation on the Honor Flight program, on September 29. The program recognizes and honors the sacrifices and commitments of Veterans, primarily from WWII, but also the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well. The program provides transportation for these veterans to visit the memorials in Washington DC and participate in recognition events. The Annual CNY Veterans Day Dinner will be held on November 11th at the Welch Allyn Lodge in Skaneateles, and we are encouraged to attend or to sponsor a member of our club to go. Tickets are $125 and all are welcome. Thanks much to Bill for a wonderful and inspirational presentation.
